One of the core values St Matthews teaches the children is to serve their community. The Town Fair Raffle is one of our school-wide outreach endeavors. This year, students in Grades K-8 are gearing up to sell more than 10,000 raffle tickets in April to raise money for the Neighborhood Youth Association.
All net raffle proceeds are donated to the outreach ministries of St. Matthew’s Parish School, which are funded by the St. Matthew’s School Parents’ Council. This year, we are highlighting our outreach partner, the Neighborhood Youth Association.
The Neighborhood Youth Association empowers students to achieve 100% college placement and on-time high school graduation through mentoring, tutoring, and a holistic family approach to break cycles of poverty and vulnerability.
The Tita Mann scholarship fund has helped provide scholarships to approximately 20 college-bound NYA students and alumni currently in college, many of whom are the first in their family to attend college. Each raffle ticket sold helps build the Tita Mann Scholarship fund to generate college scholarships for dozens of NYA students.
